FISHER SPACE PEN IS PROUD TO BE FLYING ONCE AGAIN ON AMERICAN ROCKETS FROM AMERICAN SOIL ABOARD THE HISTORIC SPACEX CREW DRAGON
Fisher Space Pen Co. is proud to be flying once again aboard American rockets from American soil after almost a decade since the Space Shuttle Program was discontinued. On Saturday, May 30th, NASA launched Astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley on a historic mission aboard the brand-new SpaceX Crew Dragon aircraft marking the beginning of a new era in America’s space exploration. The astronauts were equipped with the iconic Fisher AG7 Original Astronaut Space Pen, which has been flying aboard every crewed space mission since Apollo 7. They are scheduled for an extended stay aboard the International Space Station, where there are over 50 Fisher Space Pens in use.
Fisher Space Pens were created by Paul C. Fisher, an inventor entrepreneur who spent over $1 million of his own money to develop an ink refill that uses pressurized gas that forces ink to flow in zero gravity.
“We are delighted that Fisher Space Pens are once again flying aboard American rockets from American soil,” says Matt Fisher, Vice President. “Fisher Space Pen was created especially for use in zero-gravity and our company continues to innovate new functionalities for future releases. Congratulations to NASA, SpaceX, Astronauts Behnken and Hurley and everyone involved in this historic mission.”
The Fisher Space Pen brand has become an iconic symbol of American technology and design. It has also become part of American pop culture. Fisher Space Pens are enjoyed and used by millions worldwide and the pen has become the subject of hundreds of fan videos. It has been featured on several TV programs including an episode of the hit series “Seinfeld” titled “The Pen.” All Fisher Space Pen products contain the patented pressurized ink refill which allows them to write upside down, under water, in extreme temperatures from -30 to +250 degrees F (-35 to +121 Celsius), over almost any surface and three times longer than the average pen.
