Barbara Hunter is one of Lend A Hand of Boulder City’s valued Volunteer. She also serves on our Board of Directors. We are so appreciative of all the time and effort she donates to our community efforts.
Barbara says: “I initially began volunteering as a way to fill some time and meet new friends when my husband and I moved back to Boulder City after living in Las Vegas for 25 years. I retired at 58 and was looking for ways to occupy my time and connect socially, so in 2012 I began volunteering with Lend A Hand. I performed in-home services as well as provided transportation to medical appointments. What I did not expect was how volunteering contributed to my personal growth and well-being!
Our clients are very appreciative and they let us know how volunteers make a difference in their lives. I continue to volunteer because it has increased my sense of purpose and it makes me feel uplifted. And did I say that I’ve met the nicest people? We have the best clients in Boulder City and it truly is “neighbor helping neighbor”.
Thank you Barbara for all you do for Lend A Hand and the Boulder City community!
