The hallway at Martha P. King Elementary got a facelift with a wonderful new mural painted by Boulder City’s one and only Connie Ferraro!
Principal, Jason Schrock gave Connie a call earlier this year saying he wanted some colorful new artwork for the school and asked if she could create something. Connie says he knew he wanted plenty of color to engage the students and something that featured of course, Hoover Dam as well as the historic trains and railway that serviced the building of the dam.
Connie has done a great many projects throughout the years in town, so she took her inspiration from other past projects and created a visual history of Boulder City she hoped would be engaging for the children. She says the project took her four months to complete and she tells us she “loved every minute with those children.” She says they came by often, some of them eager to chat and share their thoughts with her.
Enjoy the video above, created by Ray Turner, and count ourselves again lucky that Connie decided to call Boulder City her home. Enjoy!
