There’s a new concept and a new crew over at 2 Wheels in Boulder City (located at 567 Nevada Way) and we’re excited to share what’s happening over there!
Meet Michael Budd, Jacob Carter and David Moore, this dynamic threesome who love craft beers, sharing stories, and Boulder City. They have ambitious plans and would love to see Boulder City on the map for the highly popular, boutique craft beer market.
But first – let’s tell you a bit about each of them. Mike (photo above, right) and his family moved to Las Vegas about 3 years ago after a relocation from Toronto, CA. Sick of the winters and with three kids, they sold everything and hit the road. After heading west on an awesome journey, they settled in Vegas, but quickly found Boulder City, and love it for all the same reasons we do. Mike’s a super seasoned entrepreneur, whose done a ton of work in marketing, events and also the organic food industry up in Canada.
Jacob (pictured left) has been a craft beer brewer for over 10 years now, and has been looking for a way to make that into his full time gig. Now able to step away from active duty military service, he’s expecting his third child and thrilled to make his tasty more-than-just-a-hobby love of great beer a reality for all to enjoy with him!
And David (pictured center), well he’s more than just a craft beer enthusiast, he’s an actual trained professional in his knowledge of beer and how it’s made.
This all came together a few months ago when the first of the quarantine restrictions were lifted, and Mike and the family came out to Boulder City to enjoy the day on their bikes. They rolled past 2 Wheels and noticed the ‘For Lease’ sign. Mike called Jacob and David, and Milo Hurst (the owner, also of Milo’s Cellar) and things just came together!
Remember, things are evolving still, but for now their hours are:
- Monday – Wednesday 3pm – 10pm
- Thursday 2pm – Midnight
- Friday 12pm – Midnight
- Saturday 8am – Midnight
- Sunday 8am – 10pm
The Taco Truck keeps similar hours and will be serving their goodness as well!
So what’s on tap? Naturally, craft beers to suit any taste by the bottle and several on draft. Their own label that will be available soon will be the Bootleg Canyon Brewery.
They also tell me one special feature is Beer Zombies. This cult-favorite brewery owned by Chris Jacobs, will curate a special retail cooler and will make rare, limited-release beers available to 2 Wheels, secured through his access to the top craft brewers in the country.
Wines are also available and they have a full bar, which will feature stellar Bloody Marys, and in a nod to their Canadian roots, something called a ‘Canadian Caesar’ is also a specialty.
Their plan is to eventually have 16 full taps, 14 for limited edition craft beers, and one for a Kombucha and the other a nitro coffee. The WiFi is free and powerful, so they encourage folks to come in, hang, work, stay, enjoy and repeat!
Let’s all hope we stay open so we can swing in soon and enjoy some new cold brews in town and a great spot for fellowship and fun! We’ll see ya’ there Boulder City!
