Mostly, this is a gentle reminder to PLEASE not use the Boulder City Social Fan Page as a forum to share your thoughts or further an agenda on the current political season.
Good grief…we’re just bombarded by commercials on television, coverage in the nightly newscast, ads on the radio and everyone’s favorite…robo-calls at all hours of the day and evening.
Sadly, I’m having to take down at least a post a day off the page…first offenders get an email and second offenders get permanently banned from the page — so PLEASE don’t make me do that to you. There are so many excellent forums for politics…and more power to them…Boulder City Social just isn’t one of them.
So there…I’ve said my bit. Now I’ll leave you with the Words of Wisdom that Fan and Credit Union Manager Eric Estes issued this week (via the Boulder City Review Credit Union Ad) because it did give me a chuckle and it’s so in keeping with my sentiments above:
Do politicians seriously believe that recording a five minute audio tape on why their opponent is a buffoon and proceeding to call every household in America at the precise time they are sitting down to eat dinner with their family (or 10 minutes after they’ve gone to bed) in order to play this message, is actually drawing support? I am now keeping a log by the phone for every time a politician calls. the one who interrupts my evenings the most will be the candidate I don’t vote for. – Myself at 6:30 last night.
