Per chance, have you seen the sign up at Nevada Highway and Buchanan when it’s displaying the words “Be Kind…Be Boulder!” and wondered what that’s about?
Be Kind…Be Boulder is the Chamber of Commerce’s way of supporting the growing Be Kind movement started by the Josh Stevens Foundation, which strives to help us remind children that the world needs more random acts of kindness, even if they go unnoticed. To achieve this, the Foundation created “You’ve Been Caught Being Kind” tri-fold gift cards, which are presented to a child “caught” being kind by a member of the “Kindness Patrol”.
A growing number of schools in Southern Nevada and several Youth Sports organizations are spreading awareness about the Be Kind Program by having both the kids and adults wear their “Be Kind” t-shirts on specific days. For instance, the students at Boulder City High School wear their shirts on the 5th day of the month and you’ll find the staff at the Boulder Dam Credit Union and Grandma Daisy’s sporting shirts on the days they are worn at the schools.
If you would like more information about the Josh Stevens Foundation and the “Be Kind” movement, you can visit their website by clicking here. If you would like to join the movement and purchase your own Be Kind t-shirt – they are available in a variety of colors and sizes at all four of the schools and from the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce!
