Meet Luana Fritz and son Roy, the new owners of our local A&W franchise restaurant. They took over September 1st and have big plans for this classic location!
Originally from Wisconsin, Luana says that when the kids were young, they often dined at this iconic eatery, and thus have been long time fans of this old-school brand. I mean really – who doesn’t love a Root Beer Float?
Since, both Roy and Luana relocated to the great Las Vegas valley were both have worked in the restaurant industry as both entrepreneurs and have other franchise experience. Roy also runs Sun Commercial Real Estate, and had gotten the listing for the Boulder City A&W location when the business went up for sale. But when an earlier offer fell through, he called Launa and said, ‘how ‘bout it?’ and they jumped at the chance to become the new owners!
They have plans to remodel both the interior and exterior, and have lots of ideas to make improvements. They plan to make their drive through ‘boat tow’ friendly to attract the Lake Mead crowd, and say they are also excited for the upcoming Boulder City Parkway beautification project.
Renovations and scheduled to start soon, and should run about six months, and they’ll be open during that time. Roy says they both really want to be part of the community, and hope to partner with different organizations as they settle in.
One event they currently have planned with be a local BC Cruisers Classic Car Show in their parking lot on October 24th, from 5p,-8pm, and you can check out the flyer below.
