On Thursday, January 11, local Boulder City police officer Jeffrey Grasso turned himself in after being indicted on charges related to the supposed theft of over $10,000 intended to benefit his disabled son.
His son was injured in 2012 and has suffered from a TBI (traumatic brain injury) ever since, and now uses a wheelchair. The theft accusation stems from what appear to be withdrawals for forged invoices from the Hyperbaric Institute of Nevada, in Henderson.
Officer Grasso, a long-time Boulder City officer, is facing charges for two counts of theft, two counts of exploitation of a vulnerable person, four counts of burglary, five counts of forgery and one final count of offering a false instrument for filing on record.
He has been placed on unpaid leave from the Boulder City Police Department. As of last night he has posted bail and turned over all of his weapons.
