Coming Soon: Jack And The Beanstalk Child Care

Jack And The Beanstalk Boulder City, NV

There’s been something truly new and rare happening in the downtown Historic District – a brand spanking new building going up at 1304 Wyoming. What will it be, you ask?

Meet Patti Jack, of the soon to be Jack And The Beanstalk, a new licensed child care facility that will take children and infants from as young as 6 weeks, to 10 years of age. Plans are to open the location this spring, with dates still to be announced.

Patti has several degrees, specializing in Early Childhood Education. She emphasizes that this center will focus on ‘child care’ and not just ‘babysitting’. Meaning that these youngsters in their care, will also be learning during their time, involved in a variety of activities based upon their ages.

When we spoke to Patti, she says she knows the need in our community is large. Planned hours of operation will be from 6am until 11:30pm, seven days a week, to help parents who do shift work at the casinos and other businesses in our area, that require long/night-time hours.

The 4,000 sq. ft. operation will be able to handle up to 69 children, and will include a warming kitchen, so food will be brought in, and both breakfast and lunch can be provided. Patti also plans to have a small ‘school bus’ to help shuttle children to off-site learning and field trips into our local area, such as the Railroad Museum and other locations. She is also partnering with the BC Library and other organizations to make presentations and provide other fun and interesting activities on site.

Patti and her husband moved here in 2012, following her husband’s job and their three grown daughters into the area. She says she had originally intended a nursing degree, but found herself constantly drawn to the needs of children. After initially retiring when they moved to Boulder City, she re-thought things and decided no, this was her passion and she’s going to make a go of this!

Let’s welcome this new business, and its substantial investment into our area, and help spread the word to local parents that this operation will soon be up and running. She also says that she is hiring and actively seeking licensed child care professionals. Best of luck!
