Whoops!
While we were at dinner last night we got an automated voice mail from the Boulder City Utility Billing Department stating that they were informing us of an error on the printing of our latest December statement.
According to the City, this only affects about half of the residents in Boulder City. Apparently some sort of computer glitch added a 5% penalty projection into the amount owed. (Honestly, we can’t really tell from our bill how to see this issue, we just know we were notified by the voice mail…)
The City has of course quickly issued an official apology and say that new corrected bills will be mailed out soon.
It’s important to note, that this was a PRINTER ONLY issue – the actual amount we owe is apparently correctly recorded in the system. Those set up for Auto-payment will have the correct amount deducted from their bank accounts, they tell us.
But, it might be prudent to just do a little bit of extra checking to verify when your bill comes due and compare it to make sure all is right. Any questions can be directed to the City Utility Department at 702-293-9244 or you can email them on the web site link HERE.
