Good afternoon, everyone! Today’s post is one of those very rare “non-Boulder City related content” posts…and it’s specifically for our now 2,344 awesome Facebook Fans.
You might have noticed in recent months that Facebook’s tagging feature is undergone some improvements…it now has “tag suggestions”, a feature that uses facial recognition to identify users in photos and suggests you tag them. Yikes…I’m not too outspoken about Facebook and privacy concerns (except when it comes to the location of kids) — but facial recognition MIGHT be a little too big brother for even me!
Facebook turned the feature on by default for all users, but has provided a way to disable it for those of us with the heebie-jeebies. Here’s how!
- Log in and go to the “Account” tab in the upper right corner of your page, then click on it.
- From the drop-down menu, choose “Privacy Settings”.
- Find the “Customize Settings” link near the bottom of the page (it’s blue and at the bottom of the list in that main box).
- Scroll down to the “Things Other Share” column and click on the “Suggest photos of me to friends” feature.
- Click on the “Edit Settings” button and then change the “Enable” button to “Disable”.
- Hit the blue “okay” button and you’re done!
