We are beyond thrilled to share that Dan and Kelly Fox of Fox Smokehouse BBQ will be moving into some brand new digs!
The former location of Casa Flores Mexican Restaurant at 930 Nevada Way will be gradually gutted, remodeled and expanded and when ready, become the new home of Fox BBQ here in Boulder City.
June10th, the final day of business as Casa Flores, and they then turned over the keys to Dan and Kelly. The building itself was built in the 1950’s and has had between 8-10 different restaurants operating out of it in all that time.
Kelly says she would like to actively do what they can to remember and honor the history of the building as it as existed over time.
(NOTE – Calling all history buffs! This is an active call for photos or other artifacts that any locals may have to share of the building and it’s former occupants. You can email them at info@foxsmokehousebbq.com for more info.)
Overall, for the age of the structure it’s in great shape. The total size of the restaurant is 4,200 square feet, and it will double the size of their existing location at 1007 Elm Street here in Boulder City.
Plans will be to remodel the entire interior, including the bar, which they will expand slightly. Dan says they want it to be a fun, casual place to hang out with both the food in the restaurant, and the bar to watch sports and chill out.
Even better – there’s a huge back area where they plan to out an outdoor seating space into! I see lots of fun days and nights hanging out at that spot…
There’s a lot of work to do as their current location of Fox Smokehouse BBQ will of course remain open and serving us all our favorites while the remodel happens. Dan and Kelly promised to keep us up to date on their work at the new spot, so we’ll keep you posted as things progress!
