If you’ve dreamed of owning your own business, or are already in business, but could use some additional help – then come to this FREE event at the Boulder City Library on Tuesday, March 3rd at 5pm.
Having been self-employed business owners since 1999, we can tell ya folks, this isn’t easy. Business owners work hard, often struggle financially in their early years, and can feel isolated or overwhelmed about how to get good advice they can trust. Meet one such resource: SCORE Las Vegas. “SCORE is a non-profit dedicated to providing free and confidential mentoring and low cost business seminars to current and aspiring businesses.”
There will be several presenters, among them Jill Lagan, CEO of the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce, as well as Raffi Festekjian, the Economic Development Coordinator at the City. Raffi tells us, “Small businesses are the backbone of the local economy. This is a wonderful opportunity to partner with SCORE and the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce to inform local residents about the entrepreneurship resources that are locally available. Supporting the local workforce development efforts is integral to a successful economy, as highlighted by the Economic Development Strategic Plan (Pillar C: Business Retention).”
Also speaking is one of the local SCORE Business Mentors, local Co-Owner of the Nevada Way 7-11 store, Tom Carvalho. He tells us that anyone who has any interest or dream of starting or buying a business should attend.
Tom says that as a Mentor, he tries to arm clients with facts and information so that owners can make the right decisions for themselves, even if that might be that their big dream needs to wait a while. Tom also shared this comment from one of his own clients:
“Thanks so much for the encouragement! I don’t have nearly enough people in my life that can give me good feedback on goal setting, much less business ventures. So I very much appreciate your thoughts.”
We highly recommend that any prospective or current business owner check out this opportunity. Registration in advance is recommended, and you can do so HERE.
