1,000 pancakes please…now that’s a mighty tall order!
Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada will celebrate 100 Years of Girl Scouting, as 1,000 girls, volunteers and alumnae Rock the Dam on Saturday (March 10th). In a symbolic bridging across Hoover Dam the crowd will honor the past as they welcome the next century of Girl Scouting. This historic event pays homage to Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada’s beginnings in Boulder City with 22 girls in 1932.
The event begins at 7:00am in the lower Arizona parking lot when the Girl Scouts will be treated to a pancake breakfast (griddle donated by the Rotary Club of Boulder City (aka Noon Rotary). The symbolic walk across Hoover Dam will begin at 8:20am and the event should be finished at approximately 9:00am.
Props go out to Papillon Helicopters who will supply a helicopter so that photographer Frank Carroll can take a commemorative aerial photo will be taken of the group on the Hoover Dam!
