Well, if there’s one thing virtually everyone can agree on, it’s that the Brew Crew over at Boulder Dam Brewing Company will find ANY excuse to celebrate the making and drinking of beer, am I right?!
Yes…there is an official holiday to celebrate beer…it’s called International Beer Day and was first celebrated in 2008. It’s clearly going to get bigger though, considering that it was the 6th most searched term at Google on August 5th last year.
The officially stated purpose of IBD is three-fold:
- To gather with friends and enjoy the deliciousness that is beer.
- To celebrate the dedicated men and women who brew and serve our beer.
- To bring the world together under the united banner of beer, by celebrating the beers of all nations and cultures together on this one remarkable day.
There are TWO…yes, only TWO places in all of Las Vegas celebrating International Beer Day and as you would expect, our very own Boulder Dam Brewing Company is one of them!
The Brewpub will be running Hoppy Hour from 4pm until closing and Chicago Joe’s Blues Band will be playing in the beergarden. They’re inviting everyone to come on over and wear whatever beer gear they have (shirts, hats, etc.), as they’re going to take a picture to get on the official IBD website, which you can check out by clicking here.
On a related note, Boulder Dam Brewing company got a SWEET write-up in Las Vegas CityLife called “A Dam Fine Getaway” and they not only have a photo of owner Todd Cook whipping up a batch of Boulder Bean Espresso Stout, they gave mentions to a few other Boulder City food & dining spots, including Backstop, Tony’s Lounge and Milo’s. Check it out by clicking here.
Nice job getting some great press for Boulder City, Brewpub!
