Well, here’s where we drop from the very great news of yesterday to the very terrible developments of today, Folks.
The Las Vegas Review Journal ran a front page story this morning outlining the allegations and investigation of Boulder City’s FORMER Animal Control Supervisor, Mary Jo Frazier (the link is below for you).
There is no description I’m willing to attempt about the information in the article on what happened over Mary Jo’s 18 year tenure and where things go from here remains to be seen.
Something that I definitely want to weigh in on though is that the RJ chose to run a photo of the current Animal Control Supervisor Ann Inabnitt in their cover story above the headline and also neglected to include the word “former” in the headline (which has now been corrected in the online version, btw). The information that Officer Inabnitt was, in fact, the whistleblower that started the investigation is easily lost.
Mary Jo’s departure (see the post about that here), allowed for a 180 degree turnaround in everything about the way the Boulder City Animal Shelter is run, as so many people know from our Boulder City Paws ‘n’ Claws page (here).
Thanks for reading the above first – it’s really important to clarify, I believe. And here is the link to the RJ article. Thanks for continuing to support the Animal Shelter and all they’ve accomplished to turn things around in the last 8 months!
