One of the great things about Lake Mead and Hoover Dam, is every once in a while some really big, cool stuff gets to come through town. Today was one of those days, when the Southern Nevada Water Authority’s Low Lake Level Pumping Station (SNWA) transported in a new pressure vessel. This huge tank came through town on it’s way to Lake Mead via Needles, at the end of a 500 mile journey.
This tank was so large, that it would not fit under the bridge on Hwy. 95, and thus had to actually get onto, and then after a u-turn come back off of I-11, before heading through Boulder City on Hwy. 93. It certainly isn’t something you see everyday, and glad it was all done safely.
