This week is the Grand Opening of the My 4 Sons Comics, Cards & Games new location downtown at 1308 Wyoming here in Boulder City! We are thrilled for them to make it into the Historic District after being open for the past 1 1/2 years out on Boulder City Parkway. If you haven’t met this amazing family yet, we told you about them HERE.

The chance to move downtown came when the Oaklane Preschool closed, and Mike knew the owner of the building and that they had been looking for a tenant, and jumped at the chance! The new building now not only makes them a walk-able distance for many families in town, it’s a larger facility opening up more room for arcades and gaming space, including the outdoor space in the back.
Mike tells us that they have expanded some of their merchandise as well. They’ve worked on adding more items for young girls in the way of jewelry, backpacks and Frozen and other merchandise.
They also have new Warhammer 40K gaming selection as well as their other known Star Wars, Magic and Pokeman assortment. Comics, posters and other collectables are of course widely displayed in their now expanded front and back room.
The plan is to remove the older play equipment out back. Mike says he would love to host Birthday Parties, and eventually ‘game-swap’ nights, and even model building and paint nights.
Currently, most gamers in our area already know their schedule:
- Friday is Magic Night
- Saturday is Pokeman Night
Not only does this family win big time by being able to be downtown, we’re all winners here too! This new business has survived not only through local support, but also Mike estimates that about 40% of his traffic comes from Henderson. That means these people who flock to this specialty will now be here downtown, and we can hope they’ll shop around and stay a bit while they’re here.
We think that most especially with the Holidays approaching, that if you have youngsters (or the ever young-at-heart-gamers) on your gift list, that you’ll check this place out first before shopping online or traveling out of town.
