National Night Out is just around the corner, so mark your busy calendars to bring the family down to Veterans’ Memorial Park for a fantabulous evening outside on Tuesday, August 5th from 6-9pm!
The Boulder City Police Department hosts National Night Out for our city and it’s a great time with a ton of different things to do.
THIS year is a bit special, too – as word on the street is that the City of Boulder City will be dedicating one of the softball fields in memory of Officer Dan Leach and all donations collected and t-shirt sales made will be donated to the Dan Leach Memorial Fund (website here and designed by yours truly).
Here are some of the items on the event agenda: The annual “Battle of the Badges” softball game between the Boulder City Police and Boulder City Fire Departments, games, a rock climbing wall, and waterslide for all of the kids. Complimentary food and drinks provided by Albertsons.
Guests can meet members of several community services, including:
- Boulder City Police Department
- Boulder City Fire Department
- National Park Service
- Hoover Dam Police
- Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department
- Metro SWAT
- Nevada Highway Patrol
- ATF
- Division of Forestry
- Mercy Air
Guests will also enjoy K9 demonstrations by National Park Service, Division of Forestry and ATF and can enter to win an Xbox One gaming console. Yowsa — now THAT’S a party!
National Night Out is a nationwide effort to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime programs and strengthens neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships – so plan on swinging by – it’s a really fun time.
