Yesterday was the first day of work for our new Boulder City Fire Chief – please welcome Chief William Gray to our community!
Chief Gray was hired after an extensive national search to replace former Chief Kevin Nicholson who left late last year. Chief Gray comes to us with more than 25 years of experience, serving as a firefighter, emergency medical officer, training officer, officer, operations captain and as an assistant fire chief.
He comes to us most recently from the Pueblo, CO Fire Department where he managed ten fire stations, as well as a whole array of other responsibilities at that post, and it sounds like we’re super lucky to have him on board here!
“Boulder City Fire Department offers a great environment to train the next generations of medics and firefighters and to begin developing the future fire service leaders for the City,” said Chief Gray. “I look forward to bringing new ideas and processes to a department and community so rich in heritage and history.”
The City also formally thanks Steve Walton for his work the past six months, leading the Fire Department, while this search was underway.
