After shopping ‘till you drop this weekend at Art in the Park, you might want to check out this classic, new swank bar in town, located in the underground at the Boulder Dam Hotel. Welcome – Cleveland’s The Lounge to Boulder City!
This place is rich and classic in an old-school, rat-pack kind of feel, with great finishes and details throughout. They’ve got a full bar, wine and beer, and big plans to boot!
Owner, Cleveland Dewolf had worked for many years at the Hotel, but always had this idea for what was a mostly unused downstairs area, of having a classic nightclub. And finally, that dream has now manifested into reality!
We met with his son Isaac Dewolf, while Cleveland was out of town, and he told us about some of their ideas.
Right now they are drinks only, but do plan on adding light snacks and expanding their wine offerings soon. They have live Jazz music on the weekends, Friday and Saturday nights, but Isaac emphasized, that it won’t be a loud atmosphere.
Isaac said, “we really wanted a place where people could have a conversation with each other, without a game on and loud music.” He told us they hand-made all of the draped fabrics that give the place great acoustics and we really loved all of the comfy, soft leather seating.
No TV’s here – this isn’t the spot to watch the game. You’ll have to actually all sit and talk to each other – imagine that!
Hours are 4pm – 10pm Weekdays, and 4pm to Midnight Friday and Saturday’s.
So if you haven’t been, do drop by for a hello and a drink some evening when you’re out and about. We think it’s going to become our favorite night-cap kinda joint!
