Now, through Monday, March 16th (2020), the Boulder City’s Historic Preservation Committee and City Council have announced they are looking for nominations to recognize any outstanding building or property with the Historic District.
The award will be presented at City Hall on April 28th at 7pm.
The criteria for these nominations are as follows:
- The property must be within the Historic District (addresses can be found online at bcnv.org/Historic-Preservation under Preservation Documents; then click Historic District Map Registry).
- The award is based on the exterior of the building/property, as readily visible from the street.
- All properties (residential, commercial, institutional, religious, parks, etc.) are eligible.
- Honors include historically appropriate remodels or excellent preservation/restoration.
The nomination needs to simply contain the property address and/or the name of the current business/church/institution. Any property can be nominated by anyone – you don’t need to be the owner of it, and the number of times a property is nominated, is not considered.
Additional information is available on the City’s web site, and the link to submit a nomination, including any photos/documents/before-after pics, etc. is HERE. You can also submit nominations in person at City Hall or mail them in. We’ll be interested to see who/what wins this year’s award!
