We’ve all been keeping a curious eye on the new Travel Center at Railroad Pass.
We had the chance to sit down and talk to the General Manager Joe Wilcox, along with a few of his staff, Sales Manager Maylen Mosquera and Front Desk Manager Lana Wroblewski. We gotta tell you, they’re a blast!
The Railroad Pass Casino as many of you know is the oldest casino in the United States, and has a rich and varied history.
When the new owner took over a few years back they remodeled the inside and have made many improvements to the building. Now with the Travel Center and the coming Interstate 11, there’s been even more work.
Joe says they’ve been extremely grateful to the Boulder City community for their support through this process. Overall, their sales numbers at the casino have been above their projections during the construction, and that’s due in a large part to regular local business.
The coming Travel Center is huge! They will have food, beverages, sundries and supplies, showers for rent and of course you can get a fantastic sandwich at the new Capriotti’s as well. The Chevron station will be able to handle the large big-rig trucks as well as all of us little people in our cars too.
Are they hiring? You bet! You can learn how to apply on their web site HERE.
They don’t yet have an ETA on when they will officially open (we hear late May…but too soon to tell) but what Joe DOES say is that then they do get to kick open the doors on this bad boy, there’s going to be one heck of a party! And we’re all invited, so we’ll keep you posted on that event – be sure to watch for that down the way.
