Work Begins On St. Jude’s Expansion Project As It Receives Another Grant

St Judes Expanion Boulder City, Nevada

In a project we told you about all the way back in 2018 HERE, St. Jude’s Ranch For Children continues to move forward with their 15 acre expansion to create a Healing Center for victims of sex trafficking.

The latest grant will help minimize the construction and design costs, by having the needed soil survey donated to the project for the cost of just $1, and they have selected several partners to help them design and construct the project: Grand Canyon Development Partners, EV&A Architects, and Taney Engineering. The soil sample donation was from Universal Engineering Sciences and Terra Contracting, and above all partners kicked off the work with the initial drilling borings being done.

The hiring of these firms is good news, as it means the next vital step is in place to make this a reality. The total cost of the project is estimated at $15 million, and so far the charity has received $4 million in a matching grant from the Engelstad Foundation, and $3 million from Clark County, which we told you about earlier this year.

If you haven’t heard about the project until now, here’s a summary from their press release:

St. Jude’s Ranch for Children’s Healing Center will sit on 15 acres of land with a series of individual therapeutic homes to help a growing victim population that has been enslaved and has nowhere else to turn. For more than a half century, the charity has been providing services to abused, neglected and homeless children and youth. This residential program is a natural extension of its programs and will provide a nurturing environment, survivor advocates and other critical services to child victims of sex trafficking. It will be the only residential treatment center, with these specific treatment housing options and services, in the country.
