The 20th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive gets underway tomorrow, May 2nd and lasts until May 12th, when our faithful letter carriers join in by collecting food donations for families in need.
Beginning tomorrow, you can make a donation at Albertsons or you can purchase a prepaid food package that’s ready for donation. Pete Iovino, the manager at Albertsons, wants ya’ll to know that 100% OF THE FOOD COLLECTED AT THE BOULDER CITY ALBERTSONS WILL BE DONATED TO BOULDER CITY EMERGENCY AID.
Last year, I spoke with Emergency Aid and they gave me a list of the items most needed…so I thought I’d reprint that for you again here:
- Canned Meat
- Canned Tuna
- Canned Chili
- Canned Vegetables
- Canned Stew
- Canned Fruit
- Peanut Butter
- Pasta
- Pasta Sauce
- Ramen Noodles
- Cereal Boxes
- Beans (Pinto)
- Bisquick
- Cereal (Hot or Cold)
- Sugar
- Flour
You may also bring food from any other retailer to leave in the barrels — Albertsons will accept ALL food donations on behalf of Emergency Aid because the primary goal is to have their pantry overflowing with food, so this is a great opportunity to clean out your own pantry!
If you can’t make it up to the store this week, you can fill a grocery bag with food and leave it by your mailbox on Saturday, May 12th and your letter carrier will pick up the bag for you!
