A few years ago, we were invited to a private event that was a Steampunk Murder Mystery, and we gotta tell you, it went down as one of our best all-time fun nights, ever.
Which is partly why when this came across our desk, we just had to share it!
Las Vegas Steampunk is coming to Boulder City for a first ever Steampunk Scavenger Hunt and Train Ride, on Sunday, October 20th from 9:30am – 4:00pm.
Tickets are $10 per person or $7 for groups 12+ for this event, that actually takes place in a number of locations around town. Steampunk costumes are encouraged but not required, they tell us. (Exact itinerary below.) What is Steampunk, some of you ask? Here is a link for you for some background, but suffice to say this trend has been hopping around the US and the world for more than a few years now. If nothing else, you’ll at least understand what’s going on in town when you see this group of costumed hunters participating in this scavenger hunt around town!
From the organizers, here is everything you need to know to participate:
We will start off by meeting at Wilbur Square Park in Boulder City at 9:30 am. Scavenger hunt directions and details will be given at that time. The scavenger hunt will begin at 10:00 am and finish at 12:00 noon at the train station. Between 12:00 and 1:00 train tickets can be purchased, and group/individual photos can be taken. At 1:00 pm we will take a ride on the train and will tally the results of the scavenger hunt and award the winner their prize. Following the train ride join us for lunch at the Boulder Dam Brewery at 2:00 pm. After lunch you will be free to browse the town’s wonderful antique stores and other awesome businesses.
We are excited to bring you this exciting activity. We hope you will join us in the fun. Steampunk attire is encouraged, but not required. We want you to have fun either way! (Train tickets are $10 per person or $7 per person for groups larger than 12. Tickets cannot be purchased in advance.)
Please RSVP through our Facebook group: Las Vegas Steampunk (under events) or text 702-981-3168. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there!
If nothing else, this looks to be a great way for some folks to come and visit our little City and appreciate all the good stuff there is to do here. Let’s welcome them, and we think this looks to be a really fun way to spend a Sunday!
