We were THRILLED to see that the Browder Building, now owned by Dan and Kelly Fox of Fox Smokehouse BBQ had removed the plywood exterior this weekend on this classic Boulder City Landmark.
We spoke to Kelly today, and she tells us that initially they left up the plywood because they wanted to protect the outside of the building until they were ready to get inside and start the clean up process. She says that they didn’t want any damage to come to the glass windows, with the building still currently unoccupied.
She says they opened up the property into two sections (previously it had been three) and like the open area created with the archways, going into the old cafe’ and how it gives it more character.
Kelly says, “We’re going to start working with the City to bring it all up to code. Our goal is to dress up the storefront wo that it fits with the existing historic downtown area.” She also says that Jack’s Place owner Jack Gaal has been helpful in working with them too.
Their goal is to lease the two units out to some other business, and they are hoping by having the building cleaned up and open that folks can better see it’s potential. Interested parties should contact Desert Sun Realty for more information.
We wish them the best of luck on this process and hope that all moves ahead smoothly and to great results. We look forward to seeing what this will become!
