Things are a little different this year, but the Boulder City Santa Express is selling tickets now for this annual tradition in town, but of course with a few changes…
This new event is a replacement for the popular Pajama Train. On Friday and Saturday evenings at the Nevada Southern Railway (601 Yucca Street), they will have four runs nightly: 5pm, 6pm, 7:30pm and 8:30pm.
Tickets cost between $35 – $55 per seat depending on if pricing for a Child or Adult ticket, and if you are choosing to ride a Standard Ticket or as a VIP First Class. All tickets get you a ride on the train in a variety of their cars (enclosed, open air, ADA accessible) but a First Class ticket also gets you a special VIP venue at Santa’s Train Yard, gift bags and other extras!
Here’s where it also gets different. To book your tickets, head over to their web site HERE. Pick out your preferred dates and times, and know the number in your party and which car you prefer to ride in. Then, you can book your tickets online but what is new this year, is you’re booking a “zone” and not a ‘seat’. And, you’ll have to speak to their ticket line or email them to complete your purchase.
You can contact them via these methods: email Tickets@nevadasouthern.com (with your name and phone number) or Call the ticket line at: 702-930-4761 or 702-580-6074.
Whether you know it or not, this is the only major fundraiser that happens for the non-profit Friends of Nevada Southern Railway, which does a HUGE amount of work supporting our local museum and their needs.
Right now it’s worth noting that because of the recent request of the Governor that we all stay home as much as possible, the railway has suspended normal weekend rides for the next two week, this weekend included.
Also, the popular daytime Santa Train runs are still unknown whether they will be operational or not. The Museum Director, Randy Hees is awaiting final word from the State on that.
However, those with families who love this annual event we know will flock to it, and they tell us that while sales have been brisk, there are plenty of seats still available. So – go book your tickets if you want to enjoy the Boulder City Santa Express!
