Based upon what we’ve observed over the past few weeks on social media – it seems almost everyone in town has an opinion on this topic. So we’re thrilled to see that The City of Boulder City has set up a Town Hall Meeting to review this potentially important, but also contentious issue.
Tuesday, September 4th starting at 5:30pm – come one and all who wish to give their input – to the Smith Building at 700 Wyoming Street in Boulder City.
If we understand things correctly, currently we don’t have a City ordinance that regulates the use of these types of vehicles either within the City limits, nor do we have clear regulations for their use out in the desert. Proponents of creating an OHV tourism corridor have done research on other communities who have made these activities into popular tourism attractions. Opponents are concerned about noise, asbestos, wild life and other potential issues.
So, it’s really quite a bit to discuss and we’re glad The City is now giving residents the chance to share both their ideas and concerns. So….as comedian Joan Rivers used to say on The Tonight Show, “Can we talk?” (OK, we’re totally dating ourselves there!) We hope it’s a great turnout and a productive conversation where all sides can converse about what we want to do as a community!
**Note, if you cannot attend the actual meeting, Lisa LaPlante the Communications Manager has provided her email below, so you can ask questions or still voice your opinion.
