We’ve all heard about the toxic spill into Colorado’s waterways that was caused by an Environmental Protection Agency mistake last week … but in thinking that through — we ARE downstream, of course! So yes, the contaminated water hit Lake Powell yesterday and it will arrive at Lake Mead in about two weeks.
Below is a story from last night’s news broadcast on 8 News Now that is meant to assure everyone that the 3 million gallons of toxic water mixing with the 10 trillion gallons along its route to Lake Mead will dilute it to the point that there will be “no significant impact” on our drinking water.
