The City of Boulder City has arranged a very special day for us to have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take over Interstate 11 and experience it before it opens for automobile traffic. The area will be open for Boulder City residents who are interested on Saturday, June 2, from 6:00am-10:00am only.
The City says we can walk or bike the area beginning at the bridge near the end of Buchanan Blvd. and you can go and check out the freeway and the new scenic overlook.
Note: this is still an active construction zone so be mindful of this and they say that bikers will need to walk their bikes at times. Also be sure you abide by sensible sun protection and bring plenty of water!
More details will follow, but right now the good folks at The City DO want you to please RSVP if you want to attend by emailing publicworks@bcnv.org. They need to have a guess as to an approximate head-count for safety reasons.
We’ll hope to see you there for what should be a fantastic experience!
