The Boulder City Chamber of Commerce has announced what is planned for the Holiday’s here in Boulder City. As expected this year will be much different from years in the past. But we want to be sure we thank the Chamber’s CEO, Jill Lagan and all of their volunteers and staff, as well as the City who have worked to put all of this together.
We know all of us will miss the parade, and the traditional gatherings of crowds at the Christmas House on 5th, and the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree. The organizers of the parade had initially hoped and surveyed the interest of their normal parade entries to see if they could do a static parade, where the ‘floats’ or organizations could be static and decorated, and we the public drive by, safely in our cars. But sadly there were only about a dozen who were willing to participate in this model. So that idea had to be scrapped.
Santa’s Electric Night Parade Director, Mike Pacini, and his committee wanted to find a solution that could work for families to still celebrate these traditions, and out of that, “A Boulder Christmas 2020” was born.
The Chamber tells us, they have created an app that will “spotlight businesses through the entire community all month long, a special Virtual Lighting of Boulder City’s Christmas House and Community Christmas Tree with a special holiday program performed by local celebrities that can be viewed online and on BCTV all month long, as well as a long list of other activities happening around town. The Chamber leadership thanks Mike and his loyal volunteers for their efforts in finding solutions with the ultimate goal of safe family experiences in mind.”
“We invite any business owner that is offering a special discount, has extended holiday hours, or fabulous holiday display to let us know at the Chamber office so that we can add them to the A Boulder Christmas 2020 app. We will promote and share that app with the public locally and in the Vegas Valley in real-time, keeping it updated daily,” suggests Jill Lagan.
Let’s all stay safe and healthy this Holiday Season Boulder City!
