The Angel Tree is once again erected at the Boulder Dam Credit Union, and although I think it would be AWESOME if there was no need for one, I just love going to visit the tree. Whoever created this idea, I just can’t thank them enough – it’s simply one of the most rewarding experiences you can give to someone, and yourself, this Holiday.
There is still some time, but don’t delay too long – all donations must be received by Friday, December 13th – so if you’re interested in participating, be sure to stop by this week!
Here’s something BDCU Manager Eric Estes wrote a couple of years ago about the Angel Tree and I couldn’t say it better myself:
“During the next week, the Angel Tree will again make its appearance in the lobby of the Credit Union. And, as has happened every year before, the angels will come. They will be retired couples looking to help young families. They will be young families teaching their children the meaning of kindness and generosity. They will be school children surprised that there are other children who simply want a pair of jeans or a warm coat for Christmas. They will be passersby that didn’t intend to stop, but when they noticed an elderly couple on the tree in need of food and clothing, couldn’t resist the opportunity to be an angel.”
So stop by the Credit Union, pick out a tag that speaks to you, and you can have a pair of wings of your own…
