1 Death & 5 Rescued Yesterday – Including 4 Boy Scouts

Well, this is just a terrible, terrible shame. I just can’t understand why anyone would go hiking themselves, but especially allow Boy Scouts to go hiking in yesterday’s heat.

One 69-year old man died and five people, including four Boy Scouts, were rescued at Lake Mead National Recreation Area yesterday…all suffering from heat-related illnesses.

Condolences to the Bowman family…it’s such a sad and costly reminder that Lake Mead Recreation Area is under an excessive heat warning and hiking is highly discouraged.
