$10 off $10 Purchases for Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday 2013 in Boulder City, NevadaThis weekend brings Small Business Saturday with it — a shopping holiday held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

American Express always does some type of small business promotion (like buying Facebook ad credits and giving them to small businesses) or rebating the cards of consumers for shopping at participating small businesses.

This year’s promotion is that shoppers can receive $10 back on their (registered) Amex cards when they spend $10 or more at a participating local business. You can find a list of the participating Boulder City businesses by CLICKING HERE (be sure to enter the Boulder City zip code, too…mine defaulted to Henderson for some reason).

First launched as an advertising campaign by Amex in 2010, Small Business Saturday contrasts with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, in that holiday shoppers are encouraged to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local instead of big box, chain store or eCommerce sites.  Happy shopping!
