Yep, it’s fall again in Boulder City, and the second big event in the season returns the first weekend in October – it’s Art in the Park coming Saturday, October 7th from 9:00AM to 5:00PM and Sunday, October 8th from 9:00AM to 4:00PM! The event takes place at four parks downtown, adjacent to City Hall, including Wilbur Park, Bicentennial Park, North and South Escalante Park. Admission the event is FREE.
Proceeds benefit the Boulder City Hospital Foundation, and you can get more info on the event from their web site. A link to the program book can be found HERE. There will be food trucks, entertainment, fine artists, traditional crafts, and more.
The Boulder City Hospital Foundation informs us, “This year’s featured artist, Ryan James Rabbass, has created “Locomotive Breath” in black and white which depicts the fondness of an era gone by. Ryan, a Las Vegas local does all of his painting in his home studio. Ryan creates original compositions and paints in acrylics.
This year’s poster and shirt feature the piece Locomotive Breath. Beautiful Distraction is a three dimensional piece with a wood base. Each component piece was individually mapped by computer, then manually traced. Using a scroll saw, Ryan cut the various shapes and then nailed them down. Ryan used modeling paste and then added detail with additional layers. The result is a stunning example of combining traditional fine arts with computer technology to produce a fantasy landscape.”
We look forward to see all our friends and fans there!!
