A Little Bit About Pickleball
Pickleball? What is it? Many of us didn't know exactly what it was until COVID-19, when it's popularity exploded across the United States. The game, which is paddle sport, incorporates elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It's played outdoors on a court that is similar to a badminton court, with a net separately the opposing players, much like tennis.
Boulder City is home to 3 sets of pickleball courts, the most recent addition being the four courts at Veterans Memorial Park. You can also find courts at ABC Park and Broadbent Park. Pickleball courts are open from 5:00AM to 10:00PM daily on a first come, first served basis. Users can also reserve pickleball courts for a small fee by calling or visiting the Parks and Recreation Department at (702) 293-9256, Monday thru Thursday from 7:00AM to 6:00PM.
The official rules for pickleball are available HERE at the USA Pickleball website. We hope to see you out there soon!
