If you pick up a copy of Sunset Magazine’s June issue, you’ll find Alabam (aka The Toilet Paper Hero of Hoover Dam) is one of the 30 winners of the first-ever Sunset Travel Awards in the category of Most Outrageous Roadside Attraction!
The contest started with over 200 entrants (the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce representing us) from all 13 Western states and British Columbia. An advisory panel spent two days selecting finalists in 30 categories, with Sunset readers selecting the final winners.
Pretty cool feature when you think of Sunset Magazine’s six million readership number! Props to Steven Liguori, the artist who created Alabam for us — check out the statue and informational plaque below!
