Alexis Donnelly found herself at a crossroads a while ago. She was feeling unwell and needed to change her way of eating. She quit her job and made some butter. Yes, she made her own butter! This was the beginning of a healing journey for her that has brought about the Donnelly Homestead Kitchen. Known now for her amazing baked goods, Alexis is feeling healthier and happier since she began making her own products and she’s sharing them with the community.
The Homestead Kitchen started with a loaf of regular sourdough but has since expanded into a complete menu of other offerings as well. The sourdough is made from real sourdough starter, which is completely different from commercial products that are flavored to taste like sourdough bread. She has a sourdough starter that she feeds each morning and that’s the base for all her sourdough products like rosemary garlic, tomato mozzarella, hot honey Parmesan, jalapeño cheddar, brown sugar cinnamon, and apple cinnamon sourdough loaves? Can’t decide? No problem! Alexis offers “a flight” of smaller loaves where you can choose four flavors to check out. These smaller loaves are also great hollowed out as bread bowls for stews and chilis or to serve dips in!
She also offers a variety of sweet treats like cinnamon rolls, buttermilk waffles, cinnamon bites, along with plain and everything bagels. Still looking to soothe a sweet tooth? Try her amazing cookies (these were a real hit at Wine Walk)! She’s also helping you round out your meals with little extras like buttermilk biscuits, dinner rolls, breadsticks and garlic knots. You can also try the butter that started it all in three varieties: regular, salted, and garlic butters. She also makes onion powder, garlic powder, and cream of anything powder (think vegetables), gravy powder for your homestyle meals as well.

Alexis and her husband, Christopher, along with their daughter, Kristen (15), have made their home in Boulder City for about eight years now. Alexis bakes Monday thru Friday and some Saturdays in order to provide her customers with the freshest products available.
