An Update from Nora's Lakeside

We met with Marcello and Morgan Mauro, the owners of Nora's Lakeside, a new restaurant concept that is being designed and constructed at 538 Nevada Way (the former site of Milo's Best Cellars). We toured the property and heard more about the cool plans they have for the space and it's going to be very special.

They are currently contracting for the necessary demo work to bring in a full kitchen, new bar area and expanded dining area. Once a contractor is selected and the demolition permit is issued, that work is expected to take 5-6 weeks, after which they can begin the new construction. They expect to be open in Spring 2027.

Part of the demolition includes excavating the courtyard area to install a full size kitchen, dishwashing area, cold storage, and beverage station. This will enable them to serve many of the same favorite dishes served at their Flamingo Road location. In addition to a brand new kitchen, they plan to reconstruct the bar area to include a climate controlled wine cellar, stocking some of the best reds and whites to go with their amazing meals! You can count on enjoying al fresco dining as well, as they will continue to serve patrons on the covered arcade area.

We asked them about the small, boutique hotel featured on the property and that will be staying. There are some additional hotel areas currently being designed. Again, expect an elevated stay, with beautifully appointed rooms and a casual, but upscale vibe for the courtyard area.

One thing we learned that we thought was super sweet and cool is that Marcello and Morgan had one of their first dates at Milo's fifteen years ago! We love that this location holds a special spot in their hearts. They will be great stewards of this prime location in our town where many great memories have been made and will continue to be made at the new restaurant.

We can't wait for Nora's to open! It will offer locals a beautiful dining experience within the historic charm of downtown Boulder City. We'll continue to provide updates every few months as they move closer to opening their new venture.
