Looks like it’s about a month away because “BC Waste Free” has a Facebook Page that says that “BC’s New Recycling Program Coming to a Curb Near You this Labor Day”…that’s pretty cool.
You’ve probably seen the four new fancy trash trucks around town in recent weeks…they were apparently the first step to this project, which is part of the contract extension for Waste Logistics (Boulder City’s landfill operator).
The next step is that all residential customers will be provided with a new 32-gallon or 65-gallon recycling container to put out alongside your regular trash container (Labor Day or thereabouts). All customers will actually be included in the program, btw – from businesses, mobile home parks, and apartments to the parks, special events, etc.
It’s “single stream” recycling, meaning you don’t have to separate any of your recyclables…they are taken down to a facility in Las Vegas that does that.
Below is the flyer that shows you what you can put in the recycle bin…if you click on it, you’ll get a larger PDF version that you can print off and put on your frig for reference in these early days of recycling in BC!
p.s. – the website address on the flyer doesn’t work…but you can visit and Like BC Waste Free’s Facebook page by clicking here.
