Seems that our tiniest of tots…yes, the kids over at the Parks and Rec Tiny Tots Program had to suspend their field trips to places like the Boulder City Library because their transportation bus was lacking booster seats for all the kids and well, kids can’t be ridin’ around without booster seats!
Parks & Rec mentioned it to Patricia Spero at the Boulder City Police Department who put word out to several employees at BCPD to see if anyone “knew someone who knew someone”.
Turns out that Sergeant John Chase both knew someone AND was willing to make the call on Tiny Tots behalf — so it was only a matter of days before the outstanding bunch of volunteers at Clark Country Safe Kids Coalition was ready to deliver a booster seat to the 28 kids at Tiny Tots! Not only that — but Sergeant Chase was able to secure an additional 6 seats so that the smaller kids can migrate into larger seats as they grow.
Three of the smaller tots needed special high-back boosters that could not be provided with all of the rest of the seats, but there’s an awesome non-profit group here in Boulder City called Friends of Boulder City Police Department and they stepped up to purchase the remaining seats needed so all the kids received seats and no one would be left behind.
Having heard about this before it took place, I asked that some photos be taken on the day the seats were delivered so you could see how cool it is. Kudos to EVERYONE involved…this is what makes Boulder City the BEST place to live!
