It would be cool if you did. I read Eric Estes’ Boulder Dam Credit Union column in the Boulder City Review last week giving a louder voice to Joe Rowe’s Letter to the Editor two weeks prior…and thought I’d jump on the bandwagon!
Joe’s Letter to the Editor (Boulder City Review dated Feb. 17th) explains that in both large and small towns across America, red shirts are being worn on Fridays as a way to show camaraderie and support for our troops giving their lives for our country.
The American Legion Post 31 has purchased red shirts in all sizes that say “Boulder City Supports Our Troops” and are selling them at the Boulder Dam Credit Union (at a table outside of it for the next few weeks, in fact), at the brewery, at the Senior Center and directly through Post 31. If you’d like your business listed as a supporter, please call Joe at 722-4273 or the American Legion office at 293-6374.
Joe’s letter also mentions (and Eric confirmed in his column) that the credit union staff has been wearing red shirts for the past several years in a show of support for the troops. I had no idea that was the reason and I think it’s pretty darn cool. So much so that I’m officially goin’ red on Fridays from now on and hope you’ll do the same!
