Many of us love to patronize the BC Dam Tacos truck, parked in the lot of the Boulder City Inn at 800 Nevada Way. Owner Rolando Medrano and his family are fixtures in the community and have created a culinary sensation with their gigantic burritos, tasty tacos, and cheesy quesadillas! The spot is always busy and customers walk away satisfied with happy tummies. Another wonderful feature of Rolando’s is the business’s Facebook page (HERE). He shares funny anecdotes, great pictures and memes, and updates about the restaurant. For some, it came as a surprise that his February 6th post announced the taco truck was available for sale.
We caught up with Rolando recently to ask about this and find out what the future looks like for him and the business. One, this was not a decision made lightly. He loves making the food and interacting with the customers. He likes writing the hilarious Facebook posts. But, it’s a hard, physically and mentally demanding job. When you’re a small business owner, you rarely have “time off” because even when you’re away from your business, there are still calls to answer, invoices to pay, planning to be done, suppliers to contact, social media to maintain, etc.
Rolando would like to spend more time with his family, for one thing. He has some physical ailments that have been bothering him and finally need to be addressed. Those are the main reasons why he’s looking for a local buyer to take over the whole enterprise. The successful buyer will get the truck, menu and the recipes by his wife, Arcelia, that Boulder City residents adore. Interested parties should contact Rolando Medrano at (702) 218-1439. Serious inquiries only, please. Also, please don’t pester Rolando at the truck about the sale! He’s a busy man! 😊
In the mean time, Rolando plans to scale back the expansive menu a bit, and reduce hours at the truck. That will start on Monday, March 2. The new hours will be Monday thru Thursday 12:00PM to 6:00PM, Friday 10:00AM to 4:00PM, and the truck will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Come on down and grab some tacos soon! We wish the Medrano family, especially Rolando and Arcelia, all the best in whatever the future holds for them.
