Yesterday morning, July 11th, Boulder City Police Chief, Timothy Shea conducted the formal swearing in of two new members of the Boulder City Police Department, Chaplains Sr. Chaplain Michael Thrower and Sr. Chaplain Ryan Michael Creelman.
The City tells us that their role is to help officers in situations where faith-based assistance is required, such as with trauma victims or where other major life events have occurred – such as:
- Domestic disturbances
- Persons in jail and their families
- Bereavement counseling
- Death notifications
- Lonely and/or despondent persons
- Suicide attempts
- Alcohol and drug abuse
- Personality disorders
Given that (sadly) life seems to keep getting more complicated, even in our little town, we’re glad to see that these folks are joining the Police Department to help those in need during tough times.
