Lake Mead National Recreation Area is your national park, and one of the major contributions to the excellent quality of life we enjoy here in fabulous Boulder City!
Every year from September through May, they especially need volunteers.
Opportunities to help are boundless and they range from those needing specific skills to beginners with little or no experience.
Families and groups are especially encouraged! In the past they’ve had Scouting Troops, businesses and individuals work intermittently as time allows or participate regularly.
Last year, 2016, the park says they had 4544 volunteers contribute a whooping total of 127,748 hours of work!!!
This equates to over 3 million dollars in labor costs that otherwise might not have been possible without such support.
We’ve all been hearing about possible budget cuts to all of our National Parks in the future, so we’re guessing then it’s up to us to help our park as much as we can!
