The Rotary Club of Boulder City has launched the preparations for the annual Best Dam Barbecue Challenge, which will be held again this year on Memorial Day Weekend – May 27th and 28th, 2011. Applications for barbecue competitors, booth vendors and judges are being accepted and more information can be found on the newly redesigned (by yours truly, in fact) website at www.bestdambarbecue.com. You can also become a fan the Barbecue Challenge Facebook Fan Page, as well as Follow Them On Twitter.
The Best Dam Barbecue is the major fundraising project for the Rotary Club of Boulder City. One of the major Boulder City projects the club supports is the “Every 15 Minutes” program for Boulder City High School, an educational experience that reminds us all of the dangers associated with driving while impaired and texting. For more information on this program, you can visit the Every 15 Minutes website.
The Rotary Club of Boulder City also supports numerous other projects at the local and international level such as mini-grants for schools, grants to St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, Lend- A- Hand, and Emergency Aid, literacy projects at home and abroad, and the worldwide fight to eradicate polio to name a few.
