The 20th Annual Best Dam Barbecue Challenge kicks off next Friday afternoon, May 26th, 2022, in Bicentennial Park (on Colorado Street, near City Hall) from 1:00PM to 11:00PM. Then there’s the full day on Saturday, May 27th from 9:00AM to 5:00PM, ending with the final awards ceremony of the winner of the Best Dam Barbecue Challenge! As always, admission and parking are FREE for attendees!
There will be up to 41 teams from Nevada, Arizona, California and other nearby states competing for more than $8,000 in prizes, including a special contest for kids called KidsQue (to download an application for this contest, click HERE). This event is an official Kansas City Barbecue-sanctioned event with official judges and everything! The judges this year will be familiar faces: Kelly and Kathleen McIntosh!
This year they will have live music on Friday night, and of course, the Family Fun Zone, the Best Dam Classic Car Show, and plenty of beer, Bloody Marys, frozen lemonade, and barbecue to enjoy. In addition to barbecue, attendees will find other food vendors like shaved ice, fresh kettle corn, nachos, roasted corn on the cob and funnel cakes smothered in berries and whipped cream. Finding amazing eats, while enjoying the shopping at the Marketplace vendors, in one of Boulder City’s most popular parks is sure to be a good time! New this year is the addition of the 57th Annual Antiques, Vintage, and Collectibles Show and Sale hosted by Las Vegas Antique Bottle and Collectibles Club, in the Boulder City Parks and Recreation Building, located at 900 Arizona Street.
