The Boulder City Library has issued the call for authors and artists for the 2026 Boulder City Library Kids Bookapalooza! This second annual event will take place on Saturday, October 24 from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. Interested authors and artists must submit applications (HERE) by Friday, August 28 at 5:00PM. Submission of an application does not guarantee selection, as space is limited.

The Library has established the following criteria for selection:

  • Priority will be given to authors and artists in Southern Nevada.

  • Publication quality: all items must be edited and published. They will accept both traditionally published and self-published applications.

  • Local interest.

  • Artistic merit.

As Bookapalooza’s main goal is to promote the artistic talents of the community, works that use generative AI will not be considered.

Last year's event was a fun one, featuring a number of local artists, authors, and vendors. Dozens of children, adults, and other patrons were excited to meet the authors and artists and hear more about their books. Additionally, community members purchased books at the event to take home and enjoy.
