I love this town. I don’t know whose idea it was to make “The Giving Tree” in the middle of the Boulder Dam Credit Union, but hats off to you, because it is clearly decorated from the heart!
Fan Laura Hubel wrote a commentary in the newspaper that describes it as this: “The Giving Tree is for everyday items such as small packages of toilet paper, shampoo and conditioners, toothbrushes and toothpaste, soaps, diapers and wipes, given to those who reach out to Emergency Aid for help. If you check, you may have a small stockpile under your sink, just like we do. It’s the perfect time to clear it out and make a sharing deposit.”
If you want to help decorate The Giving Tree, here’s a list of the top appreciated household and personal care items: Toilet Paper, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Bath Soap, Deodorant (Men & Women), Shampoo & Conditioner, Lotion, Diapers (Sizes 1, 2, 3, & 4), Baby Wipes.
If you want to leave food under the tree, here are the top items: Peanut Butter, Jelly, Canned Pasta Meals (Ravioli, Spaghetti, etc), Tuna, Macaroni & Cheese…as well as these canned items: Beef Stew, Sardines, Chicken, Beef, Fruits & Vegetables.
